Manic Mark

Mark Tyler Lead singer, percussion .

Biography

Mark grew up in the Pittsburgh area. Some of the areas he lived in was the Northside, eastside and the West side of Pittsburgh. He moved 6 times before he finished high school. He considers himself a nomadic gypsy Yinz -burgher . He currently lives in South Park and feels he has all 4 corners of the Burgh covered . He always loved music and feels like it has always been a part of him. Several bands inspired Mark to sing just to name a few the Beatles , Elvis , Simon & Garfunkel, Jim Croce, Cat Stevens, Zeppelin, Boston, Foreigner, Styx, REO, Rush, Triumph, Journey, Heart, Night Ranger, Bon Jovi,  Bush, and Creed. He also loves the way music can move you physically, spiritually, emotionally, and imaginatively. The sound of how he sings is from emotion. Mark likes the sound to bring an upbeat feeling, and positive energy to the crowd. When Mark performs his purpose is to possibly make the listener feel alive, to think of younger days, and want to get up and shake their bones .   The  best part of being in a band is the feeling of getting a song tight from the teamwork. Also the feeling you get when you are out there performing. In those ways it doesn’t feel  like work. The least favorite part of singing is being your own worst critic. Back in the day Mark enjoyed playing at Market Square at MR. K’S , Jim’s on the Southside, Mancini’s  in the Rock’s, and all of the outside place’s at ”B94 FM” gig’s LOL. Most recently his favorite places to play was at the Little Italy Festival , Grille 565, and the GOOD Time Bar . The best advice he could give for anyone who wants to be a singer is to have fun, and try to stay out of your head do not to over think . Listen to all genres off music. That will give you more moods to draw from.
